Automatic Digital Ring and Ball Apparatus

Category

SOFTMATIC, is a high-tech digital microprocessor tester designed to automatically determine the softening point of asphalt and tar.

Two laser sensors detect the fall of the balls, determining the softening point.

The bath temperature is measured by an electronic system that maintains the gradient (5 °C/min) as specified by the Standards.

A magnetic stirrer with electronic speed adjustment from 0 to 160 rpm also ensures uniform temperature in the vessel during test execution.

The fan cooling system allows samples to be quickly cooled, allowing many more tests to be performed per day.

The graphical interface with touch screen allows easy configuration of parameters and immediate execution of the test.

The high-resolution color screen, 800×480 pixels, offers all the functions of a PC for data management and analysis, test results and graphs.

Two test parameters can be selected in the microprocessor menu:

  • Test in boiled distilled water to determine the softening point at 30 to 80 °C.
  • Test in glycerol for softening point from 80 to 150 °C.

The tester is basically made up of:

  • Ceramic glass heating plate with automatic cut-off at the end of the test cycle.
  • Motherboard with microprocessor, which controls: heater/stirrer, temperature probe, laser sensors, plate preheating phase and memorizes all test parameters.
  • Steel ball centerer. Power supply: 230V 1ph 50-60Hz 700W

    Dimensions: 435x330xh510 mm

    Weight: 20 kg approx.
