Boheme abrasion machine

Category

This instrument measures the volume loss in a sample under abrasion test and is used in tests such as:

  • Cobblestones
  • Concrete slabs
  • Slabs made of natural rocks
  • Natural stone slabs

The test is performed by placing a sample to be tested in a Böhme abrasion test apparatus on the test track on which standardized abrasive has been spread;

The grinding wheel is rotated and the sample is subjected to an abrasive load of 294 N for a certain number of cycles. Before performing a test, establish the bulk density of the sample by measuring the weight and thickness. Perform the test for 16 cycles of 22 laps each, calculating at the end a wear as an average loss of volume and weight. The apparatus basically consists of:

  • Horizontal cast iron disc with a speed of 30 rpm and a diameter of 750 mm provided with a 200 mm test track for positioning a sample.
  • Separate control panel with digital speed counter with automatic stop after preset speeds
  • Sample holder
  • Adjustable loader used to produce a force of 294 N ± 3 N on a specimen

Power supply: 230V 50Hz 1ph 800W

Dimension: 1500x1000xh850 mm

Weight: 320 Kg approx.
